Resolved! (5KT stall at idle)

Thanks largely to responses from erudite listers, the long-standing
intermittent stall on my '85 5KT is solved!

As a lot of you emphatically declared, it was indeed a vacuum leak,
even though I thought I'd got them all. The culprit was one I haven't
heard mentioned in particular: it's a vacuum hose running to the
intercooler right above the turbo. (I've no idea *why* there's a
vacuum hose to the I/C). It has a rubber sleeve on it with ribs
running along the inside surface, presumably to keep it from
getting too hot. Looked fine from above, but when I overcame
sloth and actually took it out , I found two holes on the underside
-- one larger than my thumb.

I've wrapped duct-tape around it for now, and the effect is
amazing. The idle is rock solid (though a bit low when cold),
acceleration to redline is smooth (it used to stumble very
badly), and it doesn't stall. Best of all, mileage appears
to be up by about 5 mpg! (I used to get about 21).

	Thank you all!
