Jim;

    You can pull the guide pin, clean it and the bore up, and lubricate it
with a good silicone grease. I do this on an annual basis to keep the rear
pins free in my '91 200q.
    Audi sells a rebuilt kit for the pins which includes new rubber boots,
new bolts, and a small tube of silicone grease. Mucho $$$ of course. One
thing they don't sell, though, is new pins!
