<V8> Wipers (again)

Although I saw my previous message in the digest, I have had no replies,
which I find amazing!  I have always been impressed that the members of
this esteemed group can come up with at least a suggestion or two, even
for the most obscure problem.

I will recap the problem:  The wipers on my '90 V8 work fine, except
they come to rest after use at a 90 degree angle instead of in the down
position.  If the wiper arms had just loosened and slipped, they
wouldn't work properly when using in the rain.  What is the mechanics
here?  A computer?  The stalk switch?  Is it in the motor?  Is the motor
expensive?  Has anyone experienced this before?
