I have them in my car. My car did not come with them. While on the lot one
day (in there for service, I believe), I noticed a few other used cars on
the lot with them. I asked the salesman, and he said that some cars came
with it... and some didn't (I don't know if it was an option or just "one of
those things"... maybe it just depended on the mood of the guys at the
factory??).
We inquired at the parts department, and the guy said that the plastic
inserts (that make the cup shape in order to hold beverages) are not
available by themselves... that you'd have to buy the whole console (which
is ludicrous, IMHO... but hey... that's typical, right?).
So, what next? Well, the salesman was nice enough to take me out back, and
look to see if any of the lease cars (that were going back to AoA) had the
plastic inserts. Sure enough, one of them did (albeit tan instead of black..
but I didn't care... a little flat black paint... and I was all set!!), and
he took them out and gave them to me... no charge.
I guess that means that if you want them... it may be best to try and find
them in a junk yard. Or try asking your dealer for the separate inserts...
maybe "my" dealer's parts dept. was wrong!! (Yeah, right... a dealer being
wrong... NAW.. that's not possible, is it??) :-)
Good luck.
