Engine temp/was 0w-30

I was curious to know something. We were talking about correct engine
temps. My turbo has a temp gauge that's essentially useless (unless I
overheat or am low on coolant) because there are no number markings. I
wanted to know what is the proper operating range said in mov't of the
needle. On the highway, I get to the first big tick (I think a quarter)
never goes up, very stable. City driving I get exactly half to 1 mm above.
What are these as far as temps and my concern is if 1/4 on the highway is
too cold.TIA!
