I personally believe it's related to the color of the car and of course a 
matter of individual preference. Amber goes well with my "bamboo" 200q, but 
Sarge's red one sure looks sharp with the red V8 lights.

Happened to shine lights on the V8 I saw last night, and the outer-upper lamps 
reflected back a little amber with the red. But I think Sarge said they are a 
bolt-on.

1991 200 quattro, 83k, wanted to put the amber side markers from DOT headlights 
back on with the euros, but no dice
1988 GTI 16v, 173k, half a V8's engine, maybe if I cut a V8 taillight in 
half...?
