Re: Hot Start Problem Solved (long)
Kurt,
Sounds like you may have similar problem.
One other test is to start it up cold and then shut it off before the
engine warms up and see if it re-starts. If it does re-start then the
hot soak is either causing vapor to form in the injector lines (bad
check valve) or your injectors are leaking (although I suppose your
injectors could still leak when cold).
The best way to check check valve is to measure the system and residual
pressures.
Your injectors can leak from too much residual press. or they can simply
be bad.
The FP reg. is the 16mm (I think it is 16mm) nut screw into the front
body of the fuel distributor. There is a O-ring on the threaded end try
not to damage it upon removal (lube it with grease when re-installing).
There is a spring inside the bore and under the spring is usually one or
two washers. There is also a small spool peice inside the bore - do not
lose this - it usually stays up inside but will fall out if the fuel
pushes it out. These washers adjust the spring tension/pressure to set
your system pressure - less washer=less pressure.
I suppose if you wanted to trial and error it you could reduce the
washer thickness about 0.025" and see what happens but I think measuring
the actual pressures is essential is knowing exactly what is going on.
Let us know what you find
