One thing I did on another car I used to have was to insert a N.O. relay
in series with the wire providing power to the fuel pump. To activate
the relay, I would have to press two ordinary looking, momentary contact
switches at the same time (with the ignition switch on "on"). This
would send power temporarily to the relay coil, closing the circuit.
After this the relay would simply power itself. When the car was turned
off, the relay would lose power and reset. The extra relay was hidden
under the fuse panel, between all the wires. If I were car jacked
(which had happened before), the car would simply keep on running until
the thieves stopped and turned off the car for refueling, etc.
The only problem was that parking attendants could never start the car
;)
