Starting problem fixed/address another

My starting problem is now gone thanks to me getting my injector cooling
fan going. Now off to another lingering somethime problem. After a cold
start, if I suddenly hit the gas (while idling or in gear), I'll hear
something of a pop, more like a thud, but a pop and then the engine dies.
Starts right back up. In gear, I'm supposed to get .5 or .6 bar. During
this, I'll get .7. Once I get down the block, after being on boost, there
ar no more troubles. If I push *slow* on the gas, I don't have much of a
problem, but it's a very minor annoyance. The pop is not very loud,
happens sometimes when the engine dies, not always. What does this sound
like? BTW: can the injectors have been damaged from the fan being inactive
for almost a year? Can varnish have built up inside? This is an unrelated
side note.
