CIS-E III Questions, and wonky steering.
Hello, all.
Saw a really nice looking lady in a '97 A4 Q today with lic. plates that read
A4 Audi. Allright, silly, I know.
Second. I am still having this stupid problem with my 87 GT 2.3L It is losing
power even worse, now. It has a dead spot in the acceleration around 3-4K rpm,
at part throttle. It goes away, (usually) if you mash it to the floor.
Parts replaced: Fuel pump, relay, distributor, injectors, ignition coil with
power stage, fuel computer, ignition computer, cleaned and repaired all
grounds, new intake manifold gaskets, o rings and air boot. I retorqued the
knock sensor to 16 ft-pounds today, and cleaned the connections. I run only 92
or higher, and I'm getting no fault codes. I've also replaced the 02 sensor.
I've gone through all of the wiring diagrams I could find. Any other CIS-EIII
people run into this? It drives me nuts. It also idles too high sometimes. I
really think it is ignition realted.
The other thing- Even after I replace the control arm bushes in the front,
the steering feels like it binds under hard accel. It's not the normal torque
steer my old GT had. New strut mounts and the like have been installed. A
friend's 87 GT 2.3 feels the same. Is this characteristic of the 2.3L coupes?
Please help me!!! -Jon.
