RE: Broken stud extractor; now what?
That wuz me. Generally, the heat and vibration of drilling combined with
the reduced strength of the stud as you slowly drill it away with larger
and larger drill bits will loosen it up and the reverse-twist drilling will
help to back it out, not make it tighter as a right-hand twist drill will do.
So long as you don't go so big on the drill bit that you damage the
threads you have nothing to lose over a right-hand twist drill for getting
that easy-out in so that you can snap it off and then be in a real clustah......
