Re: Broken stud extractor; now what?

Regarding "Time-serts" (sp?), I have heard of them. These were used along with
dilivar (sp?) studs to rescue my problem-child 2.7 911 motor. I would think
there must be a good P-car wrench lurking who can shed some light on this. My
understanding at the time (more than a decade back now) was that Helicoils
didn't hold up in this application where Time-serts did.

Regarding reverse or right hand drill bits. I have a set I bought from Snap-On
years ago and swear by them...but thankfully I have not had to try and remove
a broken stud (yet...that project will happen someday I'm sure now that I have
an old 5kcstq). I use them primarily for smaller fasteners in consumer
electronic repair and they work great...the bit bites in and the fastener
threads right out, really good for screws, etc.

Good luck on yours Gary...

ask him to re-post.
