I don't have the dimensions, but the parts fiche shows the intercooler
(Ladeluftkuehler 8A0 145 805C)as a single pass unit with the inlet pipe
at the bottom of the end cap on the right passenger side, this inlet
pipe on the intercooler comes directly off the end cap and points to the
rear slightly (~30 degrees?). 

The intercooler extends across the front of the car with the exit coming
straight out at the top. The exit pipe that connects to the intercooler
uses an o-ring seal and this pipe makes a 90 degree bend and extends
straight back across the front of the car and is integrated into the
body sheet metal cross piece.

According to the diagram, the RS2 uses the 1991 200TQ (US) intake
manifold style that uses a pipe that is routed over by the exhaust
manifold and not the later S4 style intake manifold that comes in on the
drivers side..

Hopefully the person on the list who  owns one of these RS2's can
measure its size.
