RE: Hotter coil
I believe that the 84 has a pin in the high-voltage connector and requires
a compatible coil wire connector. 85-on has no pin and can use a 'normal'
US-style coil wire.

Can an aftermarket coil with a higher secondary voltage make my car start
any faster? Anyone change their turbo's (or n/a with the turbo style coil)
with an aftermarket one? Was it hard to do. I'm kind of turned off by all
the wires there. Is the factory coil as good as it gets? BTW: I looked in
a couple of parts books and they list the coil for the 84 turbo being
different from the one on 85's and up. What's the difference? They look
the same. If I need a replacement, will the later model fit? Is it a
supercession? TIA!
