Re: New meat

I've always had the same problems with salespeople also. Since I'm still in my
20's, many salespeople won't even give me the time of day. And when they do,
they figure I cannot afford what I am looking at, and try to steer me to
another car I do not want. Before I bought my Audi, I looked for about a year
for a car, stopping at many dealers along the way. My biggest gripe is with a
local BMW dealer. I intended to buy a sweet '92 525i 5 sp from the dealer. Low
miles, good price, with warranty. My old Maxima at the time was getting
repaired from an accident, so I didn't have the car there to be appraised for
my trade that day. The salesdork told me that $50 would hold the car thru the
weekend (it was a friday) so I could bring my car in on monday to have it
appraised. I call on monday to tell the salesman I am coming in. He tells me
the car was totalled on saturday when another salesman had it. I went out to
the dealer anyway, very pissed and wanting my $50 back. This dealer has a lot
behind it where they put wrecked cars to be worked on by the body shop. Since
the car was supposedly wrecked on saturday, you figure they would tow it to
the lot for the insurance to look over later. Well, there was no car in the
back lot. I was told it was already taken to the salvage yard. I knew they
were full of sh#!, and after arguing for awhile, was told they sold the car
saturday (obviously for more $$$$). I took my $50 back and walked out. So I do
not want to hear any more salesmen complaining about customers. We have the
right to heckle, shop around, and walk out on a deal at any time. If you do
not think this is ok, maybe you are in the wrong profession!
