Re: cracked winshield (Insurance Info)

Hi all;

Here in Connecticut and early in my life when I lived in Massachusetts, one
could buy full glass coverage (I did and still do) that will cover any
glass breakage and/or pitting with zero dollar deductible. I think it cost
me $35.00 per year for this insurance. I think its one of the best
bargains in the insurance industry. A new window with installation on most
any car will set you back $100.00 minimum (and most a lot more than that!)
True German Audi windshields run between $250.00 to $600.00 depending on
model and year (and the Audi god's whims) Aftermarket windshields are less
but are made of softer glass and will pit much faster than their original
German brethren. As a part of the "full glass coverage" the company will
replace the windshield with OEM glass. I've only used the coverage once on
my 85 GMC pickup truck that impacted a stone once up in Maine. I was very
happy I bought it.
