Hi folks. It's been a while since I've posted or have been a "regular"
reader.
Last Jan. 1 I traded my '89 100Q for a '90 200TQ. What a difference, what an
upgrade! I love the car, but have one niggling problem I'm hoping someone can
help with. About once a day during my 21 mile commute to/from work, the oil
pressure warning light/symbol comes on briefly, with the accompanying chime.
This has happened at idle, but mostly while highway cruising. Oil level is
fine, oil was recently changed with 15-30 weight by the dealer, and the oil
pressure guage will be reading fine, 3.8 to 4+ bar. So, the actual pressure
seems fine.
My mechanic has looked at it a couple times and replaced the pressure
sensor/sender unit. It seemed better, but I still occasionally get that
warning.
Anyone BTDT or have ideas? My next guess would be an electrical contact
behind the dashboard.
Thanks.
Frank M.
