A4 WITH SPORT SUSPENSION

I am in the process of about to place an order for an A4 Avant, and was
wondering about the Sport Suspension option.  I am considering ordering
it, but have one reservation - ride height.  It lowers car approx. 1", putting
ground clearance less than my Coupe Quattro (which has an acceptable 
clearance for my use) and approaching my 993 (too low for winter use).  
Was wondering if anybody has run an A4 with this suspension in snow belt
regions, and what their experience is.
