Road & Track ran an article in 1979 about that car, and showed photos
of the (relatively) new model 100 fitted with a two-rotor engine. 
This included under-the-hood photos. The article mentioned that the
NSU/Wankel patents were about to run out. As a result, I think 
Audi-NSU-Auto Union GMBH lost interest, and plus, Toyo Kogyo
(Mazda) was doing a better job with it.

Here's a question I bet Ti Kan can answer: What exactly became
of NSU technology. When (VW-owned) Audi-NSU-Auto Union AG
became Audi AG, was that only a change of the corporate name?
