Re: 1989 Audi 90 Q gas smell
Check the crankcase ventilation hose. I had a very strong smell of fumes in
my 91 CQ for quite some time before I traced the source to this piece. It
smelled of motor oil as much as gasoline. The smell was stronger with the
dash vents open in 'ECON' mode. The rubber hose decomposes in the oily
environment. The replacement is metal.
