Shoot, I would buy a new one, IF Audi offered the 1.8t in the A4 Avant
quattro (with sport seats and sport suspension, thank you very much).

Unfortunately, I sent an email to Audi-USA (via the website) and they
responded that they do not plan on offering the 1.8t in the Avant.

I had the pleasure of getting a ride in fellow q-lister Jason Palmer's
"Hoppen-ized" '97 1.8tq this past weekend, immediately followed by a
ride in a 30v V6 quattro. Both cars were manual transmissions, and both
cars had a driver and [the same] two passengers. There was no comparison
between the engines; it felt like the 1.8t was out of the gate before the
v6 had even started.

Now, Audi-USA just needs to do the right thing and bring that 1.8t Avant
to the states. Then I'll put my money where my mouth is (and be very
happy about it).
