Audi crash: split into 3 sections?

Do you guys have what we call "cut'n'shut" cars?  This is where a legitimate 
wreck with the back end smashed is welded to a stolen rear and takes on the 
identity of the wreck?
 
If one of those things is in an accident, it will _always_ pop apart.
