More Slip
Comparing a center torsen to the front or rear drivers might help define the
bite. As you increase the slip angle of the rears or the fronts in an fwd or
rwd car, they are constant relative to each other. SO, maximum traction of
both wheels is the same in regards to slip, so Dave E. proposition is that Trg
to the ground as a whole decreases. That's fine for a fwd or rwd. Slip angle
relation front to rear in either of those cars is irrelevent, specifically a
constant, to the operation of the Torsen (side to side wheels are always at
the same slip angle). NOT so with a torsen center. They are interpreted in
terms of absolute traction, specifically a variable. So slip angle front to
rear in an awd torsen center is relevent to the very operation of that torsen,
by the very definition of slip angle and of Torsen.
