change oil in 1.8T with synth myself???

Hey fellow Q heads!

I just hit the 3000 mile mark on my A4 1.8t, and was thinking about changing
the oil with Mobil 1 this weekend myself.  Audi doesn't want to change my oil
until 5500 miles, and i don't like waiting that long on a new turbo engine.
Any reason I should not do this on a new car, or will Audi not approve of me
changing the oil myself?

I also plan on bringing 4 quarts of MObil 1 to the Audi dealer every time I go
in for the scheduled oil changes...do you think AUdi will have a problem with
that?
