Change it! You've waited long enough. I use Mobil 1 10w/30 winter; 15w/50
summer in my 1.8tq. There are those who say synth won't allow proper
break-in so don't use it too soon, but I disagree.

Depends on your dealer. Some may, some may not. How will you verify they
used it, anyway?

Be aware, changing the oil filter on the 1.8t is a PITA, at least compared
to the I5. If you haven't found it yet, it's on the driver's side of the
engine, towards the firewall. You have to access it from top, rather than
underneath. I removed the intercooler-to-intake hose to get access, and
then hacked off a good chunk of an oil filter wrench handle to make it
short enough to fit back there. When you remove it, it then spills dirty
oil all over your nice clean block/trans, leaving an oogy mess. Why did
Audi make this so hard????............SLM
