aftermarket suspension bushings

Age, chemicals and wear are the enemies of bushes.  They don't last for ever.
 
When I spent an hour under a BTCC A4, I didn't notice anything unusual about 
the bushes.  But they strip one car between each two races and rebuild it 
_completely_ (they do ultrasound checks on components, etc.) and I expect they 
mount fresh bushes each time.  It's unlikely that one of the A4s would do more 
than two races on one set.
