Re: the need for electric speed

Agreed. Though I look at lambda and frequency of a port EFI and figure that
your 'gains' are minimal at best. That's a lot of gas money. And frankly, as
long as you have a cat, FTP isn't a problem either. As long a WOT is free,
not really an issue.

Even at 1000 I'm not sure I see how it would move up in the B4B department.
That buys one real nice IC...

My understanding of SEFI vs PEFI are NOT in HP per se. I have seen several
comparos (the Z28 and the taurus 3.8 come to mind) regarding torque figures.
Given 2.2L, I would want the gain of SEFI. If I remember my numbers
correctly the Taurus gained almost 30lb/ft doing nothing else. That makes
SEFI an interestin alternative to EH, IMO. From an absolute HP standpoint I
don't disagree with your or FMS assessment. I would look hard at the torque
figures tho.

Spending that kind of money, to me, makes me think that most don't understand
CIS, and what it is. It isn't electronic... It IS on your car already, and
it IS a good device, and it CAN allow you HP gains. I know two of the fastest
5ktq's i've driven have CIS. One can argue that it's better. An interesting
test might be comparing Graydons 5ktq to Bob Duprees 5ktq. Betcha more gains
came from the 3in exhaust and computer, than come from the EFI....
