Alan,
The coolant system is a closed loop, never had an Audi boil over even in 
short trips to the red zone.  If your temp guage is accurate, 60-70% 
should not induce boilover.  Is your system holding pressure?  Is the 
cap on tight, thermostat good?  Is your cooling fan going on, is your 
coolant mix appropriate?  My guess would be poor system pressure 
reducing your boiling point.  Flush the system, check rad and thermos 
flow, not to mention water pump function.  Time consuming but all 
relatively easy and cheap to do by yourself.
