The answer is, nope. The CIS air meter plate thingy on the lid of the
airbox negates the use of anything like this, since it's not like the
throttle body on all those Asian cars. You can get a K&N panel filter
for in there, maybe drill some big holes in the casing for more airflow,
or if you're real creative, make some ducting that catches air from the
front of the car. There is sort of a snorkel thing already in the right
fenderwell.
Congrats on the purchase. Don't let the mileage fool you. These Audis
are good for a couple hundred thou before they get tired (kind of like a
Volvo).
