Battery part 2
Well, had no trouble after the first start of the day. It could crank
stronger though, so I guess replacement is inevitable.
Went back to Wal-Mart and looked at their application guide instead of
the stupid computer thing with a telephone keypad. Wouldn't you know
right next to the application for my car is a little footnote. For the
vented battery, I need "special group 48 with the remote vent". Of
course they don't have it and the manager has already left, so any hope
(slight as it may be) of speaking to anyone intelligently about getting
the proper battery is lost until Monday.
Others:
Pep Boys, vented, Pro-Start, by Exide, 670cca, $40
Auto Zone, vented, but only the "south" version with a measly 500 cca,
yeah right
Advance Auto, vented, 810 cca, $46, but it's not made by a company I
recognize. Anyone ever heard of GNB of Atlanta?
Kmart had an Exide for $80, yeah right
I _may_ check Sears tomorrow, but doubt they'll be competitive.
None of the independent auto parts shops will be open tomorrow, but I
doubt they'd be competitive either.
Still haven't found anyone with Interstate batteries.
The real disappointing thing is, the Wal-Mart batteries are made by
Johnson Controls. Too bad they don't carry the full line.
