OK - you're old fashioned.
 
The great thing about the digital dash is that you can turn off the tachometer, 
range display, fuel gauge and water temperature, just leaving the speedometer.  
Don't worry - any problems and they'll light up again.
 
Then you dim the speedometer down so it's barely visible.  I don't know a more 
pleasant car to drive at night.
