   I'm sure many listers could help me out with this one but lets start with:

   1) The S6 got body colored front and rear bumpers and body colored
       side door trim whereas the S4's had black trim all the way around.
        (this is the easiest way to tell the difference between the 2)

   2) The S6  received a silver lining around all the gauges in the
       instrument cluster where the S4 did not. 

   3) The S6 got the famed Audi 3 Spoke sport steering wheel where the
       S4 had the 4 spoke unit. 
 
    4) The S6 has the 6 spoke 16X8? Avus rims. S4 had 5 spoke 16X8 rims.

         I'm sure there a few other minor differences that someone can
         remember. HTH,
