The 80-87 Audi 4000s and Coupes are all based on the same chassis.
There is no difference in critical dimensions. However, for the 85
model year Audi redesigned the front and rear bumpers to the wrap-around
style, and changed the front grill slope. The rear trunk lid on the sedan
is also changed to open down to bumper level, as well as a new tail light
treatment. 85+ cars got new side skirts, and the dashboard and console
are also updated at the same time to a more rounded, modern look with more
appealing textures.
Everything can be swapped from the newer car to the older car, with the
exception of the rear trunk and taillights. The new style bumpers may
be difficult too, but I am not sure. All interior bits should fit.
There are quite a few people on this list that have swapped the newer
style dash into an early car.

No. The 80/90 dash is so radically different that there is no realistic way
of making them fit the 4000 without looking like a hack. This is not to
mention that the 80/90 dash electricals are not compatible with the 4000...
