I am very comfortable that I am getting the gas I pay
for. I worked at a service station for over a year and it was inspected twice
during that time, always unanounced. Once a lady from some consumer-protection
group even showed up and took samples to not only test the metering of the pumps
but also the octane ratings. The gas station sold 5 grades of fuel so the
testing was abit of an inconvienience for about 20 minutes but as a consumer I
think it is well worth it. We could even have been fined if the old inspection
stickers were damaged and not promptly reported to the state.
