Re: 4K CV Joint interchange?

This is more complicated than I expected.  Part of my confusion is re: what
they mean by 4K.
I looked in an interchange book and they referred to 4K 5 cyl, which I
interpreted as including Coupe and Quattro, because they all had 5 cyl.
And it would exclude 4KS w/ front drive only, since they all had 4 cyl.
But your information shows this is wrong.

The reason I want to know is the local U-pull boneyard has a 85 4ks with
new axles/CV joints which they said I could have for $20 each.  Their
interchange book only lists the half shaft and shows the complete unit
doesn't interchange w/ the 4KQ.
But I still thought it might be worth getting them if at least the Joints
could be used.  

So I still need to check a 4KS parts fiche to determine ...

You've given part of the info needed to answer the question. 
 So far I'm doubtful, since it appears that even the Coupe and 4Kq do not
share the same parts.
