Re: flushing the coolant system
Pull all the hoses. Pull the thermostat. Leave the heater hoses connected
to the core side. Hook up a garden hose to on side and allow it to drain
from the other. Once the thermostat is out, you can put the housing back
on and do a complete flush with one inlet for the garden hos and one
outlet to drain. I have a non watercooled turbo, so it's something like
this: the inlet will be a heater line going to the heater core. Outlet
will be thermostat side. Do alternate between upper and lower for the
outlets. You'll be surprised by how much old stuff you get out by doing
that.
