That is what they said in the test if i remember.  They put really crappy 
goodyear tires on the car.  Worse than those michelin things.  Yes, 
better tires would dramatically help braking distances, as we all know 
that the most important thing on the car is the tires...that can not be 
denied, they are the only part of the car that touches the ground.

they define almost everything about how a car handles...hence the almost 
constant discussion on the list about tires.

Take a look at the A4, when it first came over here, it was equipped with 
really crappy goodyears, now it has much better tires and it is posting 
much better thandling numbers at hte magazines...

Tires make a HUGE difference..
