bad gas? (no food refs, please)
I found out my neighbor and his 92 100 had some kind of hesitation problem
(actually the car had the problem) that a mechanic diagnosed as 'bad gas'
and which then (according to the mechanic) required some _big_ fuel system
dollars (like new injectors, and more). I think he got taken -- 'bad gas'
has always seemed a problematic explanation to me at best. He contacted the
gas station parent co. after the incident, and was told that his was the
only complaint -- they said when there is a problem, many people will
complain at once (this is coming from gas giant, so take it with a grain of
salt).
Anyway, assuming one got some really 'bad gas', what could be the physical
damage to the fuel system, and does this really happen to people?

p.s. the neighbor now thinks he was taken too...
