Driveline "clunk" 4kcsq

I'm new to the list.  Whew! Lotsa mail.  Own three 4-ringers ('86 4kcsq,
'90 100, '95 90s).  Daily driver '86 4kcsq has drive-line "clunk"' can
induce by quick clutch pedal lift associated with brisk acceleration, or
even accelerator lift and brisk reapplication; sounds like it is from
the rear.  What is it likely to be?  How do I find out?  Would
appreciate any and all suggestions.
