Re: Photo Radar...
Hi!
That spray-on stuff is based on some clay compound. It was on a web
site somewhere, I remember something about photographers using the
stuff (can't see why). You have to re-apply it after washing. Supposedly
works very well when used with some sort of plate cover of the type
that either scatters the light or makes the plate unreadable at an
angle. I think the ones that are unreadable at an angle makes the car
easier to spot when parked somewhere (they make the plate blank and
a copper will see it when driving by, while the scatter ones simply
work when given a good dose of bright light). Would love to have some
of these toys here in Cape Town, the camera is big here, but I think
the law reads something like the accompanying van that houses the
officer must be in view of the trap and they still use the pressure
line traps to trigger the camera. I think they used to run the
radar in it, but it might have become illegal in Cape Town, still used
in KwaZulu/Natal where fellow lister, Renier, stays.
