Intercooler rebuildable?

The recrimping and giant hose clamping" of my original intercooler only held
up for a month. (Oil leak driv. side bottom) Before replacing it, I was
wondering if anyone has had success in removing the end caps and replacing
whatever gasket material is under there. Someone had mentioned epoxying the
end caps on.
Comments?
