5000qt A/C Q's

Hey,

     I was wondering what the function of the muffler/dryer looking thingy on
the front of the condensor.  I have in mind to weld two 5000 radiators to make
one big one and can do this if I can eliminate that A/C part in question.  Any
input will be appreciated..
