Re: air box failures? and heat treated Duck tape

No I didn't know that. Just exactly what is your Duck tape made from?
According to a lovely spokeswoman at Manco, Inc., the makers of DUCK
tape, "duck tape is effective from -20 degrees farenheit to 176
degrees farenheit, but must be applied at a minumem surface
temperature of 50 degrees". I think your number may be off an order
magnitude there, or have you been playin with that old fashioned
asbestos tape. So although the idea of repairing rusted catalytic
converters and insulating exhaust manifolds with a roll of Duck tape
sounds easy, I don't think its up to the task. There are plenty of
other good automotive uses for Duck tape though, (check out
     www.ducktape.com).

"I taped a hole in my car's tire so I could
get home to fix it correctly. It actually held up long enough for my
     car to travel 20 miles
                             home." --Ed Hoffman, Lancaster, WI

"On my way home from work, I hit a deer.
Luckily, there was little damage. It did break the framing around my
     headlights. The
headlights were dangling and I needed to put
them in place in order to safely drive home. My trusty Duckr Tape
     worked great!"
                             --Carolyn Beegle, Manns Choice, PA

"My windshield wiper arm bent and the
wiperbade would not stay on --I was 40 miles from home and more than 5
     miles from the
local garage. I used Duckr Tape to keep the
wiper on until I was able to get a replacement part the next morning.
     Thanks!" --Amy

"You can use it to tape up cracked windows on
your car or window." --Jodie Owens, Malvern, AR

"We covered rust spots on a white car with
Duckr Tape and paint." --Jessica Hundiak, Kinchelor, MI

"I used Duckr Tape to hold my '69 Dodge
together." -- Scott Leppert, Rogers City, MI

"I use Duckr Tape as an emergency rope when
traveling and hauling things. Rolled or flat tape makes a
handy, quick securing line for items that may
fly away on fast highways. It's strong and sturdy and doesn't
rip easily." --Carla Davis, Danville, FL

(and my personal favorite, probably applies to all german cars)

"My grandfather used Duckr Tape to fix the
brakes on my grandmother's 1979 Mercades. She still will
not drive any other car." --Johnna Martin,

Don't you know DUCK tape can withstand temperatures of 2000 degrees?
