Tire Choices and Strut choices?

OK. I guess from responses I got about the size application for my
car(215/60-15 on a 5KsW) I'll be buying tires. I went to the tire rack page
and got these choices in my size and price range:

1 YOKO Avid H-4
2 BFG Comp T/A HR 4-2

3 Firestone GTA Firehawk

4 Dunlop D-60 A2 ( Currently own in 14" )

5 BFG Touring T/A HR4

The Dunlops have been OK but I lost 1 to slipped belts. Suspect more of
same in others.
I seem to remember the YOKO's getting some good thread comments.
Firestone? no idea.
I want a good performance tire for handling but.... Look, I want
everything! It just can't be an obnoxiously noisy or hard riding tire. Also
soliciting input on replacement struts for same car.
