Uh, no, they are not similar.  They may look similar, but the technology is
totally different.  The bulbs you're buying are incandescent.  The ones on
the other cars are high intensity discharge (HID) metal halide I believe.

Totally different.  Light color is similar; light output difference is
tremendous.  I doubt you will have any more light output (lumens) from the
new bulbs you purchased.

Remember, you get what you pay for!  You can't buy HID lights for our car
for 10 times what you paid for the incandescent bulbs.
