I just had this hose installed our our 5ktqw. I works well for the cost,
but not as good as the factory hose. At low speed, steering is a bit
heavy. Also, the Napa hose doesn't have the outer and inner sound
dampening so it is a bit noisier, too. Still, for 1/4th the cost of the
German hose...
Scott M. and I looked very closely at the Napa hose before and after the
install. We couldn't find the restrictor. There is a metal band on the
outside of the hose where the factory restrictor bulge is. This is only to
prevent wear on the hose from the metal brace that supports the hose off
the left (driver's) motor mount.
Maybe Napa has changed the hose (cheapened it) over the years.
