$3000-5000 for a high quality, better than factory finish,
is about in the ballpark.  A local 20v lister just had his
CQ repainted for almost $4000.  I haven't seen it but I'm
sure it looks great.
Getting a low per-hour rate is the way to go (ie go do it somewhere
cheaper).  But don't forget there is a lot of prep time involved,
probably some ding and rust repair, etc.
If you want cheap, it will probably only last a year or two.
