I think your comment says it all. $3000 labor? Even at $50/hour,
thats 60 hours, or 1.5 work weeks. $1500 materials? Even the BEST
urethane paint doesn't cost that much.
I have a really toasted black 100Q that I once considered repainting.
Although I didn't get any official estimates, a seat-of-the-pants
thought from a detailing/body shop I was at said $1500 or so.
