RE: turbo EM repair
In my opinion you should simply plan on having the manifold planed after
it is welded. The reason it cracked in the first place is because
stress was building up in it, and it sacrificed itself rather than
popping EM studs.
Shortly after I bought my '83 QTC I found that I had a few broken studs.
I had the EM machined and it has worked fine for the past >10 years.
For the first 4-5 of those years the car was my daily driver ...
