For AutoX, though, those mods would put the 1.8T well out of the stock
class.  Then all the sudden, you're being whooped by other cars.  The 30V
has a pretty power curve and slightly taller gearing.  The engine is pretty
flexible from 2500 rpm to 6000 rpm.  That's great for autoX because on some
courses, you can just leave it in second gear.
